The autumn wind swept through the bustling streets of downtown Chicago, carrying with it the scent of roasted nuts, exhaust fumes, and nostalgia. As the sun dipped below the skyscrapers, bathing the sidewalk in a warm, amber glow, Thomas stood frozen in his tailored blue business suit. He had spent fifteen years running from his past, climbing a corporate ladder built on sacrifice and silence. But tonight, his feet had carried him back to the very corner he had tried so hard to forget.

A few yards away, a humble metal food cart stood beneath a faded umbrella. A thick cloud of fragrant steam rose into the cool air, carrying the unmistakable aroma of garlic, onions, and seasoned rice. Behind the cart stood Linda, her silver-streaked hair pulled back, wearing a pristine white linen apron. She was stirring a large metal pot with a worn wooden spoon, her movements practiced and weary.
