The atmosphere inside the Iron Sight tactical range was heavy with the scent of ozone and the rhythmic, deafening cracks of simulated gunfire. Logan, a twenty-four-year-old rising star draped in sponsor logos and a snug grey polo shirt, stood at the center of the lane, basking in the adoration of his followers. To him, the range was his personal kingdom, a stepping stone to corporate glory. But his easy smile withered into a mocking grin when Miriam walked in.

Miriam wore a simple, soft beige cardigan, her salt-and-pepper hair framed by the harsh fluorescent lights of the facility. She looked like someone's gentle grandmother who had lost her way.

"This is not a retirement club, ma'am," Logan sneered, loud enough to draw snickers from the surrounding crowd. "The senior center is down the street."

Miriam didn't flinch. Without sparing him a glance, she stepped up to the registration terminal and slid her old identification card through the scanner. A sharp beep echoed through the room. Walking calmly to the firing line, she reached down. In a fraction of a second, her hand blurred. She drew the tactical training pistol and unleashed a rapid, flawless sequence of shots downrange.

The electronic scoreboard lit up instantly, flashing a perfect, maximum score in bright green. The onlookers fell into a stunned silence.

"I came here to compete," Miriam said quietly, her voice cutting through the quiet room like a blade.

Logan's face flushed with anger. He stepped back as Miriam walked to the official desk to sign the registration ledger. Abraham, the sixty-four-year-old range official, looked up with tired, defeated eyes. He took the clipboard, but as his eyes scanned her signature, his entire demeanor changed. He lowered his glasses, his hands trembling.

"Wait... that name," Abraham whispered, his voice cracking. "It can't be."

Miriam looked back at him, her eyes resolute, carrying the weight of a secret legacy.
