My Mother-in-Law Attacked Me Over a DNA Test, But My Husband Knew the Truth

The nursery had always been Sarah’s sanctuary. Decorated in light beige floral wallpaper and centered around a dark pine crib, it was the one place in the house where she felt entirely at peace with her newborn son, Leo. But that peace was shattered in an instant when the door was flung open with violent force.

Eleanor stood in the doorway, her face contorted with an ugly, simmering rage. Before Sarah could even ask what was wrong, the older woman marched across the room. Without warning, Eleanor reached out and grabbed Sarah by the hair, violently tugging her head down over the edge of the wooden crib.

"You're going to pay for this!" Eleanor screamed, her voice shrill and trembling with hatred.

Sarah gasped, tears springing to her eyes from the sudden, sharp pain. She tried to pull away, but Eleanor’s grip was vice-like. Below them, little Leo woke up, his high-pitched cries filling the tense air. Sarah wept, utterly helpless and terrified for her child.

Suddenly, Justin rushed past the doorway. Dressed in a forest green flannel, his expression instantly contorted with absolute shock at the scene unfolding before him. Without a second thought, he lunged forward, throwing his weight between them and pulling his mother off his weeping wife.

Justin stood as a human shield, protecting Sarah and the baby. His face was flushed with anger as he pointed a trembling finger at Eleanor.

"Get out of here!" Justin roared, his voice echoing off the nursery walls. "Get out of my house right now!"

Eleanor retreated toward the door, gasping for breath, but her eyes remained cold and defiant. She smoothed her navy sweatshirt, glaring at them both with venomous triumph.
