The afternoon sun poured through the high, arched windows of the concrete transit station, casting long shadows across the bustling passenger terminal. Lieutenant Marcus Hayes of the United States Navy walked briskly, his heavy duffel bag slung over his shoulder. "Fake uniform!" Thomas shouted, his voice echoing off the concrete walls and drawing the attention of dozens of nearby passengers. "Here, we take impersonating military personnel very seriously."

Marcus, keeping his military composure, stared at the guard in disbelief. "Sir, I am an active-duty officer returning from deployment," Marcus said, his voice calm but firm. But Thomas sneered, pointing aggressively at the medals on Marcus's chest. He claimed the patches were misaligned and that he knew "real heroes" who would never look like Marcus. As Thomas reached for his handcuffs, preparing to humiliate Marcus further, the station’s PA system suddenly crackled to life.
