The pristine marble hall of the Oakridge Estate was a vision of absolute luxury. Golden chandeliers hung from the vaulted ceilings, casting a warm, glowing light over the dressed-up onlookers who had gathered for the wedding of the season. But the elegant atmosphere shattered the moment Amanda stormed through the double doors.

Her once-breathtaking strapless white gown was completely ruined, caked in thick, wet mud from the bodice to the hem. Her blonde waves were damp, and her skin was cold. Standing near a towering marble column was Travis, the estate’s rugged ranch manager. With his sunburned skin and casual cowboy attire, he looked entirely out of place among the high-society guests, but he didn't seem to care. Instead, he leaned against the pillar, a knowing smirk playing on his lips as he watched Amanda’s dramatic entrance.

Amanda felt the weight of a hundred judgmental stares. The humiliation burned in her chest, hot and suffocating. She looked at Travis, whose amusement felt like a slap in the face. Unable to contain the mounting pressure of the day’s disasters, she threw her hands in the air and screamed in wild frustration.

"I am done!"

Her voice echoed off the marble walls, silencing the whispers of the crowd. Just then, her fiancé, Richard, stepped into the hall. His tailored tuxedo was spotless, contrasting sharply with Amanda's ruined appearance. Instead of offering comfort, Richard glared at her with cold embarrassment.

"You are making a scene, Amanda," Richard hissed, keeping his voice low but sharp. "Go upstairs, clean yourself off, and sign the prenuptial papers. We have a schedule to keep."

Amanda stared at the man she was supposed to marry, realizing for the first time how hollow his promises really were.
