The bustling noise of the airport terminal felt like a deafening roar to Sarah. Clutching her small carry-on bag with one hand and resting the other over her pregnant belly, she walked with a heavy heart. Sarah slowly knelt onto the hard floor, her hands open. The moment Rex caught her scent, his professional posture melted. He let out a soft, emotional whimper, his tail wagging furiously. He lunged forward gently, burying his wet nose into her neck and then nudging her swollen belly. Sarah wrapped her arms around his thick fur, tears flowing freely.

"Good boy, Rex," she whispered. "I miss him too."
