The morning of the wedding was supposed to be the happiest day of Jessica’s life, but the atmosphere inside the elegant, sandstone-walled kitchen of the family estate felt absolutely freezing. Clad in her stunning, custom-tailored satin gown, Jessica had slipped away from the bustling bridal suite to grab a glass of water and steal a quiet moment to steady her racing heart. But her peace was instantly shattered when the heavy oak door clicked shut.

Elizabeth, her soon-to-be mother-in-law, stood there. Dressed in a deep, menacing red gown, Elizabeth exuded cold authority. She had never hidden her disdain for Jessica, whom she viewed as an unworthy outsider. Before Jessica could even speak, Elizabeth lunged forward with shocking violence, her manicured hands grabbing the delicate bodice of the wedding dress and tearing it down the middle.

"You don't belong in this family," Elizabeth whispered, her eyes burning with malice.

Jessica collapsed to the stone floor, tears streaming down her face as she clutched the ruined silk. "Please don't do this, you ripped my dress," she sobbed. Elizabeth only smirked, looking down at her with cruel satisfaction. "And no one is going to believe you," she retorted coldly.

Suddenly, the door burst open. Daniel, looking handsome in his olive green groom's suit, rushed in, his face twisting in horror. "Mom, what happened here?" he gasped. Elizabeth immediately put on a frantic show of innocence, but Jessica didn't argue. Instead, she quietly tapped her phone screen. Instantly, the television above the rustic fireplace flickered to life, broadcasting the crystal-clear security footage of Elizabeth’s vicious assault. As the video replayed the crime, Daniel stared in utter disbelief. "What have you done?" he whispered, his voice trembling. Jessica looked up, her tears drying. "The cameras," she murmured.

"The cameras," she murmured.
