The Forgotten Orphan Claimed The Mythical Blade After The Commander Failed Miserably
The Sword in the Ravine
The damp, heavy fog hung low over the deep stone ravine, wrapping the ancient ruins in a cold, gray shroud. For generations, the legendary blade had remained wedged deep within the split rock, waiting for a worthy hand. Many had tried to claim it, but none had succeeded. Today, Commander Borin stood before the stone, his massive frame clad in heavy, charcoal-colored plate mail that clanked with every movement. He was the kingdom's champion, a blonde-bearded giant of a man who feared nothing.
With his squad of elite soldiers watching in hushed anticipation, Borin stepped forward and gripped the leather-bound hilt. He pulled with all his strength, his veins bulging against his neck as he strained against the ancient magic. Yet, the blade did not budge. Panting and defeated, he let go, kicking the stone in frustration.

"If I couldn't pull it out, no one can,"
Borin grumbled, turning back to his men. But his boast was cut short. From the back of the crowd, a lean, mud-stained young man named Arthur stepped forward. Dressed in a frayed woolen vest, he looked entirely out of place among the towering warriors. Yet, there was a quiet, unyielding resolve in his eyes as he gazed up at the legendary weapon.
"I am Arthur,"
he whispered, his voice steady.
"And I am going to claim you."
With a deep breath, Arthur reached out and wrapped his dirt-covered hand tightly around the hilt. The moment his fingers closed around the leather, a silent, powerful energy rippled through the air, freezing everyone in their tracks.
The wind seemed to die down, and the heavy mist parted as if paying homage to a long-awaited master. The soldiers held their breath, some scoffing at the stable boy's audacity, while others felt a sudden, inexplicable chill run down their spines. Arthur stood perfectly still, closing his eyes to listen to the faint, melodic hum vibrating from the metal straight into his palm.
