The Arrogant Knight Mocked Me for Touching the Sacred Sword until It Glowed
The Trial in the Canyon
The air in the narrow stone canyon was thick with a suffocating, icy fog. High above, the overcast sky threatened rain, casting desaturated, cool tones over the assembly of heavy knights. At the center of this grim sanctuary stood a cracked boulder, and wedged deep into its heart was the legendary sword. For generations, it had remained untouched, waiting for the one true sovereign.
Lord Borin, a massive, grey-haired warrior clad in heavy black plate armor, stepped forward. His reputation as a ruthless conqueror preceded him, and he fully expected the blade to yield to his brute strength. Grasping the leather-wrapped hilt, he strained fruitlessly, his muscles bulging under his armor as he poured every ounce of his strength into the attempt. The stone groaned, but the sword did not budge. Finally, defeated and panting, he turned back to his men with a bitter scowl.

"If I couldn't pull it out, no one can," Borin grumbled, his voice echoing off the damp stone walls.
A murmur of defeat rippled through the ranks of armored giants. But then, a figure stepped out from the shadows. It was Arthur, a small, dirt-smudged young man with a shaved head, wearing nothing but a ragged grey tunic. He looked utterly insignificant next to the towering warriors, who openly mocked his audacity as he approached the ancient boulder.
Arthur ignored their sneers. He stood before the sword, looking up at the hilt with a quiet, unshakable resolve. The hum of ancient magic seemed to vibrate through the soles of his worn boots, calling to him.
"I am Arthur. And I am going to claim you," he whispered, his voice steady.
With a firm, grimy hand, he reached out and gripped the leather-wrapped hilt, sealing his destiny.
