A Boy Crashed My High-Society Banquet to Save Me From My Elegant Fiancée
The Uninvited Guest
Edward sat at the head of the beautifully decorated banquet table at the Pinecrest Country Club. The afternoon sun cast a warm, golden glow over the high-society guests who had gathered to celebrate his engagement to Jacqueline. Dressed in a sharp gray suit, Edward looked at his fiancée, who was radiant in a pale pink designer dress. Everything seemed absolutely perfect. Waiters in white gloves began serving a lavish gourmet meal, and the aroma of truffles and roasted garlic filled the air. Edward picked up his fork, ready to take his first bite of the exquisite dish.
Suddenly, a commotion shattered the serene atmosphere. A young, disheveled boy with untidy dark brown hair burst through the manicured rose bushes. He was breathless, his clothes were dusty, and his eyes were wide with terror. He sprinted directly toward the head table, pointing a trembling finger.

"Don't eat that! She put something in the food!" the boy screamed, his voice echoing across the silent garden.
Gasps rippled through the crowd of wealthy socialites. Jacqueline stood up furiously, her face flushing a deep red. Her elegant composure instantly vanished, replaced by sheer panic and rage.
"Security, get that kid out of here right now!" she commanded, her voice shrill.
Edward froze, looking from the boy to his plate. He glanced at his trusted bodyguard, Brandon, who had already stepped forward. Brandon, a former intelligence officer, knelt down and spoke briefly with the frightened child. When Brandon stood back up, his face was deadly serious. He leaned down and whispered into Edward's ear.
"Sir, the boy is telling the truth. Do not touch the food."
Before Edward could process the betrayal, the boy, Oliver, pointed aggressively at Jacqueline's pink leather purse resting on the table.
"There's a photo in her purse of the man she did this for!" Oliver yelled.
"No! Don't open it!" Jacqueline screamed, her voice cracking in absolute terror as Edward reached for the bag.
