The Golden Rule of Luxury

The flagship boutique of Vance & Co. Jewelers was a temple of opulence. Its polished marble floors reflected the glittering light of a thousand hand-cut diamonds, and the air carried the faint, expensive scent of white orchids and vanilla. Patricia stood quietly near the back of the store, her fingers lightly brushing the edge of an illuminated glass display. She wore a simple, tailored teal jumpsuit and thick gold wrist cuffs. She had always believed that true power didn’t need to shout.

Her peaceful afternoon was shattered by the sharp click of high heels on marble. "Excuse me, but you are blocking the display," a voice sneered. Patricia turned to find a young woman in a rose gold satin dress staring at her with naked contempt. It was Tiffany, a local socialite known more for her loud tantrums than her taste.

"You don't belong in this store,"
Tiffany said, pointing a manicured finger at Patricia's chest. "This place is for actual buyers, not window shoppers who can't even afford the tax on these pieces."

Edward, the store manager, rushed over in a classic navy suit, his face flushed with anxiety. He immediately recognized Tiffany as a high-paying regular, but he failed to recognize Patricia, who rarely visited this specific branch in person. "Is there a problem, Mrs. Vance?" Edward asked obsequiously.

"Get this woman out of here," Tiffany demanded. "She is ruining my shopping experience."

Edward turned to Patricia, his tone turning instantly cold. "Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to leave immediately."

Patricia didn't argue. Instead, she calmly pulled her phone from her pocket and dialed a direct line. Her voice was icy and carried absolute authority.

"Freeze the corporate accounts. Start the ownership review right now."

Edward gasped, his face turning pale as he realized the catastrophic mistake he had just made. As Patricia turned to walk out, she added into the phone,

"And close this branch until I authorize it."
The employees immediately lined up, bowing deeply as their true boss exited, leaving Tiffany and Edward ruined in the background.
