My Husband Screamed "She's Dead" At A Gala, But My Nightmare Was Only Beginning
A Night of Golden Splendor
The Grand Plaza Hall was bathed in a warm, golden glow, illuminated by a spectacular crystal chandelier that cascaded from the vaulted ceiling like a frozen waterfall of light. It was the annual Founders’ Gala, the pinnacle of high society, and the room was packed with elegant guests dressed in exquisite formal wear. Among them was Nicole, glowing radiantly in a pale blue silk gown that beautifully draped over her eight-month pregnant belly. Beside her stood her husband, Ryan, looking impeccably handsome in a tailored slate blue suit. To the outside world, they were the picture-perfect couple, anticipating the arrival of their first child with nothing but joy.
But beneath the sparkling surface, Nicole felt a creeping sense of unease. Ryan’s hand was cold, and his smile seemed tightly rehearsed. When he handed her a glass of sparkling water, his fingers trembled slightly. "Drink up, darling," he whispered, his voice smooth but distant. "You need to stay hydrated for the baby." Trusting him completely, Nicole drank. Within minutes, a terrifying dizziness washed over her. The laughter of the crowd became a distorted echo, and her legs turned to lead.

As the room began to spin violently, Nicole gasped, reaching for her husband's arm. But instead of supporting her, Ryan’s demeanor shifted instantly. With theatrical, calculated drama, he grabbed her neck, holding her up just long enough for the entire room to witness her struggle. Nicole gasped for air, her eyes wide with shock as her body went limp. As she collapsed onto the cold marble floor, Ryan stood over her, flexed his fists, and roared triumphantly to the horrified onlookers:
"She's dead!"
A wave of terror swept through the grand hall. Screams erupted, and guests rushed forward in a panic, but the darkness had already claimed Nicole, pulling her down into a silent, terrifying void.
