Officer Miller’s warm smile quickly vanished, replaced by a look of deep professional concern.

"That’s highly unusual," Miller muttered, his eyes narrowing. "Buster is a trained detection dog. He doesn't behave like this with travelers unless something is wrong."

Suddenly, the dog nudged the half-open purse hanging on Sarah's shoulder and sat down firmly, locking his eyes onto her bag. Officer Miller's face drained of color.

"Ma'am, I need you to step away from the bag slowly," he instructed, his voice turning dead serious.

Before Sarah could defend herself, a sharp, cold voice cut through the terminal noise.

"There she is! Officers, arrest her immediately!"

Sarah spun around to see her worst nightmare. Flanked by two high-priced lawyers and airport police, her mother-in-law, Eleanor, was marching toward them with a triumphant sneer. Eleanor threw a stack of documents onto the counter.

"This woman is mentally unstable and is fleeing the state with my son's heir!" Eleanor shrieked. "And your dog has just proven she's carrying stolen property from our estate!"

The lawyer stepped forward, claiming they had an emergency custody order and accused Sarah of grand theft. Terrified, Sarah slid against the wall, sobbing and clutching her belly. Officer Miller reached into her bag and pulled out a small velvet pouch. Inside was David’s heavy silver pocket watch—Sarah's only keepsake of her husband. Eleanor pointed an accusing finger. "She stole that! It belongs to our family!" but as Officer Miller held the watch, his eyes caught the custom engraving on the back. His hands began to shake violently.
