Previously: When Lieutenant Nathan tried to humiliate a quiet female pilot in front of the entire squadron, he had no idea she held his entire military career in her hands.

A Lesson in Humility

Emily stood up calmly, smoothing down her flight jacket. She walked up to the podium, her steps echoing in the dead-silent room. She didn't look at Nathan immediately. Instead, she plugged her drive into the console, displaying the complex flight trajectories of Operation Nightfall on the massive screens behind her.

When she finally turned to face the squadron, her eyes locked onto Nathan, who was trembling slightly in his seat, desperately trying to avoid her gaze.

"Lieutenant Nathan," Emily said, her voice carrying an undeniable authority that commanded respect. "Stand up."

Nathan stood up, his knees visibly shaking. The arrogance that had defined him just minutes ago had vanished entirely, replaced by sheer terror.

"Major, I... I wanted to apologize," Nathan stammered, his voice cracking. "I didn't realize who you—"

Emily raised a single hand, instantly cutting him off. The room held its breath.

"In the air, Lieutenant, arrogance gets people killed," Emily said coldly. "If you cannot respect a fellow officer in a briefing room, you cannot be trusted to protect your wingman in combat. I have reviewed your simulator logs. Your ego consistently overrides your judgment."

She tapped her screen, officially removing his name from the flight roster.

"You are grounded from Operation Nightfall," Emily declared. "You will be reassigned to ground logistics. And since you were so concerned about it earlier..." She paused, a cool smile playing on her lips. "You will make sure the coffee is hot and ready for the real pilots when we return from our mission. Dismissed."

True strength is never loud; it is the quiet confidence that lets actions speak louder than words.
