Previously: When Amanda's stepmother forced her to display a black casket at her wedding, she expected a solemn memorial. Instead, a muffled ringtone from inside the coffin revealed a shocking truth.

The Call From Beyond

The minister, clearing his throat awkwardly, tried to steer the ceremony back on track.

"We are gathered here today to unite Amanda and Tyler in holy matrimony, and to honor the memory of..."
Before he could finish the sentence, a sharp, metallic vibration cut through the silent forest.

The sound was muffled but undeniably close. It was coming from directly inside the heavy mahogany casket. A murmur rippled through the cedar benches. Guests leaned forward, their eyes wide with disbelief.

Beatrice, sitting in the front row, went absolutely pale. Her hands trembled as she stood up, her voice screeching in panic. "It’s a sign! Arthur’s spirit is restless! We must stop this ceremony immediately and take the casket to the cemetery!"

But Tyler stepped forward, his boots clicking firmly against the wooden platform. "I don't think that's a ghost, Beatrice," he said, his voice steady and cold. "I think someone left their phone on."

"Do not touch that casket!" Beatrice shrieked, her facade of grief completely vanishing. She reached into her designer handbag and pulled out a small, silver revolver, pointing it directly at Tyler’s chest. The crowd erupted into screams, scrambling behind the cedar benches for cover.

Suddenly, a muffled, frantic voice began to shout from inside the casket, accompanied by a desperate pounding against the wood. "Beatrice! Let me out! The air is running out! You said you’d unlock the latch before the vows! Open the damn box!"

Amanda stared at the casket in shock. The voice didn't belong to her father. It belonged to Julian, the family’s young, handsome attorney.

"Drop the gun, Beatrice," Amanda said, stepping in front of Tyler. "We know what you did. And we know who is in there."
