Previously: After being cruelly thrown out of an elite bridal shop for wearing a worn-out hoodie, a young woman's true identity is revealed, turning the tables on the arrogant boutique owner.

The Power Shifts

Clara stood her ground, though her heart was pounding against her ribs.

You shouldn’t judge people by what they wear,
she said, trying to keep her voice steady. But Victoria merely stepped closer, her eyes flashing with anger.
I can judge whoever I want in my own boutique,
she hissed.
Now get off my property.

Before Victoria could say another word, a sleek, black limousine pulled up smoothly to the curb right in front of them. The driver quickly stepped out and opened the rear door. Victoria’s breath caught in her throat. She recognized the vehicle instantly. It belonged to Arthur Vance, the billionaire real estate tycoon who owned the entire luxury shopping district—including the very building Elegance Bridal occupied. Victoria’s lease was up for renewal in less than a week, and she desperately needed his approval.

Plastering a sycophantic, eager smile on her face, Victoria stepped forward to greet her landlord.

Mr. Vance! What an absolute honor—

She was cut off as Arthur walked right past her, ignoring her outstretched hand. Instead, his stern face softened as he walked straight to Clara, wrapping his arms around her shivering shoulders.

Clara, darling, there you are,
Arthur said gently, kissing her forehead.
I’ve been looking everywhere for you after you left the hospital. You shouldn't have walked all this way.

Victoria froze, the color draining from her face until she looked as white as the gown in the window.

Mr. Vance...
she stammered, her voice trembling violently.
Do you... do you know this woman?

Arthur turned his gaze to Victoria, his eyes turning ice-cold.

Know her?
he asked, his voice echoing with authority.
This is Clara Vance. My wife.
