Previously: When a young boy crashed Arthur’s lavish garden wedding shouting that the food was poisoned, everyone thought it was a prank—until a search of the bride's purse revealed a chilling conspiracy.

The Ghost from the Past

Arthur’s fingers trembled as he reached into the designer handbag. He pulled out a small glass vial containing a clear, odorless liquid, followed by a glossy photograph. When he turned the photo over, his breath caught in his throat. It was a picture of Eleanor, looking radiant and happy, holding hands with a man Arthur knew all too well—Richard Vance, his former business partner who had been ruined in a hostile takeover years ago.

But it was the boy's presence that made the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. Arthur looked from the photograph to the disheveled boy standing before him. The resemblance was undeniable. The boy had the same striking blue eyes as Eleanor, and the same messy blonde hair as the man in the photo.

“Who is this boy, Eleanor?” Arthur demanded, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

Eleanor fell to her knees, her cream silk gown staining in the dirt. She was sobbing now, the mask of the elegant high-society woman completely gone.

“Arthur, please, let me explain,” she begged, reaching for his hand. “Richard forced me! He said he would take my son away forever if I didn't do this!”

The boy, Leo, stepped closer to Arthur, his eyes wide with a mixture of fear and bravery. He explained how he had escaped from the motel room where Richard was keeping him. He had overheard his mother and Richard planning to poison Arthur’s wedding drink with a slow-acting toxin that would mimic a heart attack, leaving Eleanor to inherit Arthur's vast fortune.

But Eleanor hadn't realized that Richard had no intention of letting her keep the money—or her son. Leo had found a burner phone with texts proving Richard planned to eliminate Eleanor too, once the deed was done. Horrified, the young boy had run for miles to save both his mother and the man she was trying to destroy.
