My Brother-in-Law Cop Framed My Sister—So I Walked Into His Precinct to Expose Him
Previously: After discovering a hidden dashcam that implicated his police officer brother-in-law in his sister's fatal crash, James walks straight into the precinct to demand justice.
The Price of Justice
James stared at the ticking clock on the wall. He had less than three minutes to make a choice that would decide his niece's fate. He looked up at Mark, whose face was filled with arrogant triumph. James slowly reached for the pen and paper on the table, his hand shaking. Mark chuckled, thinking he had won.
"Good boy," Mark sneered. "Smart move."

But instead of writing, James tapped the collar of his grey flannel shirt, revealing a tiny, blinking red light hidden beneath the seam. "Did you get all of that, Chief?" James said aloud, his voice suddenly calm and steady.
Before Mark could react, the heavy interrogation door was thrown open with a violent crash. A team of State Troopers and Internal Affairs investigators flooded the room, their weapons drawn and aimed directly at Mark. Leading them was the Chief of Police, his face pale with anger and disappointment.
James had never intended to confront Mark alone. He had gone straight to the Chief and the State Police first, setting up a sting operation. Every word of Mark's confession, including the threat to his own daughter, had been broadcast live to the officers waiting just outside the precinct doors.
"Hands on your head, Thompson!" the Chief roared, his voice shaking with fury. "You are under arrest for the murder of Sarah Thompson, kidnapping, and official misconduct."
Mark was slammed onto the metal table and handcuffed, his arrogant smirk instantly vanishing into a mask of pure terror as he was dragged away. Within minutes, the State Troopers located the "safe house" and rescued little Lily, returning her safely to James's arms.
Sitting in the quiet of the precinct lobby, holding his sleeping niece tight, James finally let his tears fall. He had exposed the dark truth and saved Lily, ensuring that Sarah's memory would finally receive the justice it deserved. True justice cannot be silenced by a badge, and the bonds of family will always outshine the shadows of betrayal.
