My Bully Mocked My Broken Leg but Her Boyfriend Recognized My Dropped Necklace
Previously: Olivia was struggling on crutches when a cruel woman knocked her down. But when the woman's boyfriend helped her up, a dropped gold necklace exposed a long-lost family secret.
The bustling sounds of the mall seemed to fade into a dull hum as Olivia and Marcus stared at each other. Victoria looked between the two of them, her perfect brow furrowing in deep annoyance and suspicion. She reached down and grabbed Marcus’s shoulder, trying to yank him upward.
The Unravelling Secret
"Marcus, what on earth is wrong with you?" Victoria demanded, her voice sharp enough to cut glass. "Get up. You’re embarrassing me in front of everyone. This girl is clearly trying to pull some kind of pathetic stunt."
But Marcus was completely unresponsive to Victoria's touch. His eyes were locked onto Olivia, searching her face for the little girl he had lost fifteen years ago. He held up the gold chain, his fingers trembling so violently that the delicate metal clinked against his skin. "Where did you get this, Olivia?" he asked, his voice thick with unshed tears.

"It belonged to my brother, Daniel," Olivia sobbed, her hands clutching her crutches as she struggled to sit up. "He was snatched from our backyard when he was only twelve. This necklace was the last thing my mother had of him, and she gave it to me so I would never lose hope."
Marcus let out a ragged breath, a tear finally escaping and running down his rugged cheek. He pulled back his sleeve further, showing the faded "DANY" tattoo. "It's me, Olivia," he whispered. "I'm Daniel. I didn't run away. I was taken, and I was told my family had given up on me."
Victoria gasped, but it wasn't a gasp of sympathy. It was a gasp of sheer panic. She lunged forward, trying to snatch the gold necklace from Marcus’s hand. "This is a lie! Marcus, she's a scammer! We have to leave right now!" she shrieked, her face contorting with an ugly desperation that revealed a dark truth. Marcus stood up slowly, towering over Victoria, his eyes cold and filled with a sudden, terrifying realization about the woman he had been dating.
