Richard grabbed Tyler by the arm and pulled him into his private office, slamming the door behind them to shut out the kitchen's roar. His hands were shaking as he dipped a clean spoon into a sample of the glaze Tyler had brought with him. He tasted it, and the flavor immediately transported him back twenty years to a cramped basement kitchen.

"Where did you get this recipe?" Richard demanded, his voice trembling. "Only one man knew this exact balance of spices. Marcus."

Tyler slowly reached into his chef's coat and pulled out a worn, black leather notebook. The pages were yellowed, filled with neat, handwritten recipes and sketches of plated dishes. Richard recognized the handwriting instantly. It belonged to Marcus, his former culinary partner whom he had betrayed to secure the funding for his first restaurant. Marcus had died in obscurity, while Richard had built an empire on his stolen genius.

"My name is Tyler," the boy said, his voice cold and steady. "Marcus was my father. He died believing he was a failure, but he left me this book. And he told me everything you did to him."

Richard felt the room spin. The past he had buried so deeply had finally caught up to him, standing right in front of him in the form of a vengeful son. Tyler stepped closer, his eyes burning with determination.

"The Michelin critic is waiting for the main course," Tyler said. "You are going to let me cook his dish tonight, using my father's original recipe. If you refuse, I will walk straight out to his table and hand him this notebook along with the legal proof of your plagiarism."

Richard looked at the ticking clock on his wall. He had exactly ten minutes before the main course had to be served. He was trapped between losing his reputation instantly or trusting his entire career to an untrained eighteen-year-old.
