A Cocky Young Soldier Mocked An Old Veteran, But One Shot Changed Everything
Previously: When a smug young soldier mocks a 72-year-old veteran at a shooting range, he has no idea he is challenging a legendary sniper from the military's most elite ghost unit.
A Ghost from the Past
The silence that fell over the shooting range was absolute. The smug laughter of the younger soldiers had vanished, replaced by a tense, suffocating quiet. General Vance, a highly decorated veteran of three foreign campaigns, stepped forward from the gallery. His eyes were locked on Arthur’s faded wolf tattoo. Slowly, Vance raised his hand to his brow, delivering a crisp, respectful salute to the old man in the canvas jacket. The crowd gasped; seeing a three-star general salute a civilian in a dusty field was unprecedented.
Brody stood frozen, his face pale as he looked between the general and the old man he had just insulted.

"Sir, with all due respect, who is he?" Brody whispered, his voice trembling.
General Vance didn't look at Brody. His gaze remained fixed on Arthur. "This man is a shadow," Vance said solemnly. "The Ghost Unit was a highly classified, black-ops sniper division. They were sent into situations where survival was deemed impossible. They didn't exist on paper, and they never left a target standing."
Before the crowd could process the revelation, a tense voice cut through the air. Colonel Harrison, Brody's commanding officer, stepped out from the range command trailer. His face was entirely devoid of color as he stared at Arthur. Harrison was a powerful man, but right now, he looked as if he had seen a specter rise from the grave.
"Arthur..." Harrison whispered, his hand instinctively drifting toward his sidearm. "We thought you died in the mountains thirty years ago. The official files... they said your entire unit was eliminated."
Arthur slowly turned to face the colonel. His stoic expression didn't change, but his eyes burned with a cold, ancient fury. "The files were written by the same people who sold us out, Harrison," Arthur replied, his voice low and steady. The implication hung heavily in the dry desert air, hinting at a betrayal that reached the very top of the military hierarchy.
