The Commander Ordered Her to Strip Her Jacket, but a Hidden Tattoo Changed Everything
Previously: When Commander Thomas ordered Officer Jessica to remove her military jacket in the scorching desert heat, he expected a minor insubordination. Instead, a hidden tattoo revealed a devastating family secret.
The tension in the air was thick enough to cut with a knife. Commander Thomas gripped Jessica’s arm, his touch firm but trembling, and pulled her out of the formation. He marched her straight into his private command tent, slamming the heavy canvas flap shut to block out the prying eyes of the regiment.
Inside, the air was stifling. Thomas turned to face her, his chest heaving under his tan fatigues.

The Ghost of the Past
"Who are you?" Thomas roared, his voice shaking with a mixture of anger and panic. "That howling wolf is the unique emblem of the Midnight Wolves. Only one man wore that specific design. My younger brother, Ethan. He died ten years ago!"
Jessica stood tall, refusing to let him see her fear. She had prepared for this moment for a decade.
"He didn't die ten years ago, Uncle Thomas," she said, her voice dripping with years of built-up resentment. "My name is Jessica. I am Ethan's daughter. Your niece."
Thomas stumbled backward, colliding with his metal desk. He stared at her, searching her face, finally recognizing the familiar shape of his brother’s eyes and jawline.
"Jessica..." he whispered, his voice cracking. "But how? Why are you here under a false name?"
"Because I wanted to look the coward in the eye," she spat, her tears finally breaking through her resolve. "You signed the papers declaring him a deserter to protect your own promotion! But I found his letters. He survived that ambush. He was captured, and you left him to rot!"
Jessica pulled a worn, yellowed letter from her pocket and held it out like a weapon. It was written in her father's unmistakable handwriting. Thomas looked at the letter, his face twisting in profound agony.
"You think I abandoned him?" Thomas whispered, his eyes filling with tears. "Jessica, if the military brass knew Ethan was alive, they would have executed him to cover up the failed operation. I had to make them think he was dead to keep him alive."
He walked over to his safe, unlocking it to reveal a blood-stained journal.
"Your father didn't write that letter to accuse me," Thomas said softly. "He wrote it to save us."
”Thomas said softly. "He wrote it to save us."
