My Corrupt Ex Tried to Ban Me from Town, But My First Shot Changed Everything
Previously: When Clara's corrupt ex-husband tried to ruin her life and steal her daughter, she had one shot to prove her worth and she was not about to miss.
The Final Target
Sean took another step forward, the handcuffs clicking open in his hands. "You never did know when to quit, Clara. Now, you're going to jail, and Lily will never have to see your face again."
But instead of panicking, Clara let out a soft, cold laugh. She reached up to her grey jacket and unpinned a tiny, inconspicuous silver brooch shaped like a feather. She tapped it twice, and a tiny blue LED light began to blink.

"I hope your deputies are enjoying the show," Clara said, her voice dripping with calm authority. "Because this isn't just a brooch. It's a high-definition, cellular-linked bodycam. And right now, this entire conversation—including your admission of bribery to Jack—is being streamed live to the State Attorney General's Office."
Sean froze, the color instantly draining from his face. He stared at the blinking blue light, his arrogant smirk vanishing. One of his deputies stepped back, looking nervously at his partner.
"She's bluffing," Sean hissed, though his voice trembled. "Grab her!"
"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Deputy," Jack suddenly intervened, stepping between Clara and the officers. "I've got the call from the Sheriff on my recorded office line, too. I don't tolerate dirty cops on my range."
Realizing the tide had completely turned, the two deputies slowly backed away, refusing to participate in Sean's personal vendetta. Sean stood alone, exposed and humiliated, knowing his career—and his freedom—were officially over. Within weeks, the state investigation stripped Sean of his badge, and the corrupt custody agreement was thrown out of court.
Standing on the range a month later, Clara held her daughter Lily tight, finally free of the shadow that had haunted them for years. Sometimes, the hardest battles aren't won with physical strength, but with the patience to wait for the perfect shot.
