A Corrupt Guard Tried To Detain A Navy Lieutenant To Steal His Inheritance
Previously: When Lieutenant Marcus Hayes was violently shoved by a security guard accusing him of wearing a fake uniform, he realized it was a setup to steal his inheritance.
The Triumph of Justice
Before Thomas could drag him any further, Captain Miller stepped into the clearing, his commanding presence instantly freezing the corrupt guard in his tracks.
"Release the Lieutenant immediately," Miller commanded, his voice ringing with absolute authority. "Step away from him."
Two transit police officers, who had been alerted by the commotion, rushed to the scene as well. Realizing he was completely outnumbered and facing federal charges, Thomas’s bravado shattered. He slowly raised his hands, stepping away from Marcus. Within minutes, the transit police had Thomas in handcuffs. Under the pressure of an immediate interrogation by Captain Miller and the local police, Thomas broke down, confessing to the entire conspiracy and naming Arthur as the mastermind who had bribed him.

With the truth revealed, Marcus looked at his watch. It was 4:40 PM.
"We need to get to the notary office, Marcus," Captain Miller said, grabbing Marcus's duffel bag. "We have a military transport waiting outside."
At 4:55 PM, the heavy oak doors of the law office flew open. Arthur was sitting at the conference table, a smug grin on his face as he held a pen over the final deed of sale. That grin vanished the moment Marcus walked in, flanked by two armed naval officers and Captain Miller, who held the certified confession from the transit police.
The notary immediately halted the signing. The real, updated will of Marcus’s mother was presented, proving that the estate belonged solely to her son. Arthur was escorted out of the building in handcuffs, facing charges of conspiracy, fraud, and bribery.
Standing in the quiet office, Marcus looked out the window, feeling a profound sense of peace. He had not only defended his own honor but had protected his mother's final wishes. Justice had prevailed, proving that no matter how dark the conspiracy, truth and integrity will always find a way to shine through.
