A Corrupt Soldier Grabbed My Hair in Public, Unaware of My Real Power
Previously: When a corrupt sergeant physically assaulted a civilian investigator in a crowded military mess hall, he thought his powerful uncle would protect him. He was dead wrong.
Daniel merely laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that echoed off the concrete walls of the mess hall. He was entirely convinced of his own invincibility. After all, his uncle was Colonel Vance, the commanding officer of the entire base. In Daniel's mind, a civilian auditor was nothing more than a temporary nuisance he could easily sweep under the rug. He gestured mockingly to the exit, ordering his military police associates to escort Stephanie off the premises immediately. As she was led away under the watchful, stunned eyes of Zachary and dozens of other soldiers, Daniel felt a smug sense of victory.
However, Stephanie was not heading for the front gates. Instead, she marched directly to the administration building, her determination burning brighter than the pain in her scalp. She bypassed the security protocols, flashing her high-level federal investigator credentials to the startled receptionist, and walked straight into Colonel Vance’s private office. The Colonel, a decorated veteran with a reputation for strict discipline, looked up from his desk in surprise as Stephanie entered, closely followed by an breathless secretary.

The Commander's Office
Before Stephanie could even present her credentials, the heavy office door burst open once again. Daniel swaggered inside, flanked by his military police companions. A triumphant, arrogant grin was plastered across his face. He believed he was about to witness the ultimate humiliation of the woman who had dared to challenge him.
"Uncle, this civilian was causing a scene in the mess hall, stealing classified files, and harassing the recruits," Daniel lied smoothly, pointing an accusing finger at Stephanie. "I had her removed for breach of security. She needs to be arrested and banned from the base immediately."
Daniel stood tall, waiting for his uncle to unleash his wrath upon the intruder. But as Colonel Vance looked from his nephew to the federal badge Stephanie had placed on his desk, the color drained completely from his face. The Colonel slowly rose to his feet, his hands trembling slightly as he realized the catastrophic situation his nephew had just created.
