Previously: Huddled in a misty cemetery with her newborn baby, Nora is confronted by a grieving mother demanding answers—only to reveal a secret that changes both of their lives forever.

The silence that followed Nora's confession was deafening. Judith stared at the infant, her breath hitching in her throat. Her maternal instinct warred with her disbelief. For months, she had mourned her only son, believing his legacy had ended on that rainy highway.

"This... this can't be true,"

Judith whispered, her voice shaking as she shook her head.

"My Liam would have told me. He wouldn't have kept something like this from his own mother."

Nora knew she had to prove herself. With trembling hands, she reached into her worn canvas bag and pulled out a small silver locket along with a ribbon-bound stack of letters. She handed them to Judith.

"He wanted to protect us, Judith. He was afraid of how your husband would react,"

Nora explained softly.

The Bitter Truth Revealed

Judith gasped as she recognized the locket—it was a family heirloom she had gifted Liam on his graduation. She opened it to find a photograph of Liam and Nora, beaming with pure happiness. As she unfolded the letters, reading her son’s familiar, elegant handwriting describing his excitement about becoming a father, the last of her doubts crumbled. She fell to her knees, weeping openly as she touched the baby’s tiny hand.

But their emotional reunion was abruptly cut short.

"What is the meaning of this?"

a booming, icy voice demanded. Nora looked up to see Richard, Liam’s father, walking up the cemetery slope. His presence was imposing, his face twisted in a scowl. He had followed his wife, suspicious of her morning outings.

"Richard, look,"

Judith sobbed, holding up the letters.

"This is Liam's child. We have a grandson!"

To Nora's horror, Richard didn't look surprised. Instead, his eyes narrowed with pure malice.

"Get up, Judith. Don't be fooled by this opportunist,"

he sneered. He stepped closer, glaring down at Nora.

"I know exactly who she is. Liam told me about her before he died. I warned him that if he stayed with a girl from her background, I would cut him off completely."

Judith gasped, staring at her husband in utter betrayal.

"You knew? And you never told me?"

Richard ignored his wife, pointing a finger at Nora.

"Leave now, or my lawyers will make sure you lose custody of that child permanently."
