"I don't pull strings, Richard. I earn them," Sarah said calmly. "But since you brought up fraud, let's talk about yours."

Sarah nodded to Edward, who stepped forward holding a sealed black folder bearing the seal of the Department of Defense. Edward handed the folder down to Richard.

"Open it," Sarah commanded.

With trembling hands, Richard tore open the seal. As his eyes scanned the official documents inside, his aggressive posture collapsed. The folder didn't just contain Sarah's official, presidential-approved promotion papers. It contained the complete, classified investigation into Richard’s family business—specifically, the illegal offshore accounts and defense contract bribery he had used to fund his lavish lifestyle and sabotage Sarah’s early career.
