Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the gymnasium swung open. David burst into the room, drenched in rain, his suit jacket wrinkled, and his breath coming in ragged gasps. He had raced across town after discovering his ex-wife's cruel deception on the school portal. 'Sophia!'

he called out, his voice cracking with emotion.

Sophia's head snapped up, her tear-stained face lighting up with instant hope.

'Daddy!'

'I am not late because of work, Clara,'

David said loudly enough for the principal and nearby parents to hear.
