Previously: Five-year-old Sophia stood alone in the spotlight at her father-daughter dance, crying for her dad. She didn't know her mother had planned this heartbreak to win a custody battle.

The Confrontation

Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the gymnasium swung open. David burst into the room, drenched in rain, his suit jacket wrinkled, and his breath coming in ragged gasps. He had raced across town after discovering his ex-wife's cruel deception on the school portal. He took one look at the basketball court, saw his daughter standing alone in the spotlight, and felt a knife twist in his chest.

'Sophia!'
he called out, his voice cracking with emotion.

Sophia's head snapped up, her tear-stained face lighting up with instant hope.

'Daddy!'
she cried, starting to run toward him. But before she could take three steps, her mother, Clara, stepped out from the crowd and grabbed Sophia’s arm, pulling her back. Clara looked at David with a cold, triumphant smirk.
'You're too late, David,'
she whispered viciously.
'You proved to everyone tonight that you're an unreliable father. I've already taken photos of her standing alone. The custody judge will see exactly how much you care.'

The surrounding parents stopped dancing, and the whispers began. The school principal, Mrs. Gable, approached them with a stern expression. Clara put on a show of maternal comfort, loudly saying, 'It's okay, sweetheart, your father just had more important things to do.' David felt the collective judgment of the room pressing down on him. But instead of losing his temper, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, alongside a printed copy of the email Clara had sent him.

'I am not late because of work, Clara,'
David said loudly enough for the principal and nearby parents to hear.
'I am late because you intentionally sent me an email with the wrong date to sabotage my relationship with our daughter. And I have the digital proof right here.'

And I have the digital proof right here.'
