Previously: Natalie built her father's empire from the ground up, only to be publicly humiliated and ousted. But she holds a secret card that will change everything.

The Boardroom Battle

The next morning, the atmosphere in the high-rise boardroom of Vance Enterprises was electric. Arthur Vance sat at the head of the long glass table, surrounded by his legal team, Victoria, and Claire. He was convinced that yesterday’s dramatic exit was merely Natalie’s childish tantrum. When the heavy double doors opened, Natalie walked in, wearing a sharp, tailored black suit that radiated power.

"You have no standing here, Natalie," Arthur sneered, gesturing to his lawyers. "Security is on their way to escort you off the premises."

Natalie didn't flinch. She calmly walked to her usual seat, sat down, and slid a thick blue leather folder across the table to Mr. Sterling, the lead independent board director. "I think you will find that I have more right to be here than anyone else," she said, her voice steady and resolute.

Mr. Sterling adjusted his glasses and opened the folder. Within seconds, the color drained from his face. He looked up at Arthur with genuine panic. "Arthur... we have a major crisis. She has the voting trust."

Arthur snatched the documents, his eyes scanning the pages frantically. Five years ago, when Arthur had stepped down as Chairman, he had signed over his controlling voting shares to a private family trust to avoid taxes, assuming he could always control Natalie. He had forgotten that the trust’s sole administrator was Natalie herself.

But that was not the most devastating blow. Natalie leaned forward, looking her father dead in the eye. "That is not all, Dad. Over the last six months, I have quietly purchased eighty percent of this company's outstanding commercial debt through a private holding company. If you terminate my contract as CEO without cause, a default clause is triggered. I can call in those loans immediately."

The room went dead silent. Arthur’s lawyers looked down, unable to meet his gaze. Natalie had completely outmaneuvered him, holding the power to bankrupt the family empire within forty-eight hours.
