Previously: Clara stood crying outside the bakery where she once loved Caleb. But when she looked inside, the ghost of her past became a shocking, emotional reality.

A Shocking Reunion

The tray slipped from Caleb's hands, sending pastries scattering across the pavement. He stared at Clara, his face turning pale.

"Clara?"
he whispered, his voice trembling with a mixture of shock and sheer terror.

Clara stepped forward, her heartbreak instantly morphing into raw, burning anger.

"You're alive,"
she choked out, her voice cracking.
"You abandoned me on our wedding day, Caleb! I spent three years mourning you, thinking you were dead or that I wasn't enough. How could you do this to me?"

Before Caleb could answer, a little girl with curly chestnut hair ran out of the bakery, grabbing his apron.

"Daddy, who is this?"
she asked innocently. Clara felt as if she had been struck by lightning. The child had her exact eyes. But the final blow came when another figure emerged from the shop—Evelyn, Clara’s estranged sister who had also vanished three years ago.

Evelyn gasped, pulling the little girl behind her. Clara stared at her sister and the man she had loved, the ultimate betrayal unfolding before her eyes.

"You two... you've been together this whole time?"
Clara screamed, backing away in disgust.

"No, Clara, please listen!"
Caleb begged, tears streaming down his face as he stepped toward her.
"I didn't leave you because I wanted to. Your father forced me. He threatened to destroy my family's business and put my father in prison using false evidence unless I disappeared. Evelyn found out and sacrificed her own life to help me escape and protect my family. We aren't together—we've been hiding to keep you safe."
