Previously: When Arthur, a dirt-flecked servant, stepped up to the legendary sword that the kingdom's greatest warrior failed to budge, nobody expected the stone to shatter—or the dark conspiracy it would uncover.

The True King Rises

The cell door burst open, and three guards rushed in, swords drawn. But Zacharias was prepared. With a swift movement, the elderly priest shattered his lantern on the stone floor, igniting the spilled oil and creating a wall of fire that blocked the guards.

"Run, Arthur! Go to the courtyard!"
the priest shouted, pushing him toward a hidden escape tunnel behind the cell's rotting tapestry.

Arthur sprinted through the dark, narrow passages, emerging just as the morning sun hit the palace courtyard. A massive crowd had gathered. On the high balcony, Borin stood clad in royal robes, holding the legendary sword aloft. But the blade was dull and lifeless in his hands. The citizens murmured in disappointment, sensing something was wrong.

With a burst of adrenaline, Arthur pushed through the crowd and climbed the balcony steps.

"That sword does not belong to you!"
Arthur yelled, his voice ringing across the plaza. Borin sneered, ordering his guards to kill the boy on sight. But before the guards could move, Arthur lunged forward and grabbed the hilt of the sword still held in Borin's grasp.

Instantly, the golden light erupted once more, blinding the assembly. The sheer force of the magic threw Borin backward, crashing into the stone balustrade. The sword hummed with joy in Arthur's hand. Seeing the brilliant light and the silver medallion tumbling from Arthur's neck, the Captain of the Guard realized the truth. He ordered his men to lower their weapons and kneel before the true king.

Borin was arrested for high treason, stripped of his titles, and banished from the realm. Arthur, once a forgotten orphan covered in dirt, looked out over the cheering crowd. He realized that true strength did not lie in heavy armor or brute force, but in the purity of a heart destined to serve.
