Previously: When giant knights failed to pull the legendary sword from the stone, a dirt-streaked stable boy stepped forward. What happened when his hand gripped the hilt changed everything.

The Rightful King

The sheer power of the Pendragon blade left the remaining knights paralyzed with fear. None dared to take another step toward the boy who now stood enveloped in a faint, protective golden aura. Borin, realizing his men were losing their resolve, pushed his way to the front, his eyes wild with desperation. He swung his massive sword with reckless, brute force, aiming to decapitate the young heir.

Arthur did not flinch. Guided by the spirit of the blade, he stepped inside Borin's guard, parrying the heavy blow with a ringing clash of steel. With a swift, decisive strike, Arthur sliced through the straps of Borin's chest plate. The heavy dark iron armor clattered to the rocky ground, leaving the giant lord vulnerable and panting at the tip of the legendary sword.

"Please," Borin whispered, the arrogance completely drained from his face as he looked up at the boy he had abused for years. "I only did what the Usurper King commanded. I spared your life when you were an infant. I kept you hidden in the stables!"

Arthur stared down at the man who had treated him like dirt, realizing the ultimate irony. Borin had kept him close to ensure he would never discover his true identity, unwittingly keeping the true heir alive and bringing him directly to the stone. Arthur lowered the blade, his heart filled not with vengeance, but with a deep, royal grace.

"Stand up, Borin," Arthur declared, his voice echoing with the authority of a true king. "You kept me in the dirt, but you also kept me safe. Your life is spared, but your tyranny ends today. Go back to the capital and tell the Usurper that the rightful heir has claimed his throne."

The knights, witnessing the mercy and undeniable majesty of the young boy, dropped to their knees one by one, bowing their heads in true allegiance. Arthur looked down at his dirt-streaked hands, realizing that his days of serving in the shadows were over. True strength is not found in the weight of iron armor, but in the nobility of a heart tested by fire and humility.
