My Former Commander Tried to Stop My Wedding, But My Soldiers Intervened
Previously: When Admiral Elizabeth Vance walked down the aisle, she expected a peaceful wedding. Instead, her corrupt former commander stepped forward with a shocking threat to destroy her career.
The Extortion in the Aisle
The tension in the cathedral was palpable as the guests watched the silent standoff. Arthur didn't flinch. Instead, he reached into his dark jacket and pulled out a thick manila envelope, tapping it against his palm with slow, menacing deliberation. He stepped closer to Elizabeth, lowering his voice so only she and the immediate guards could hear.
"You think those stars on your shoulders make you untouchable?" Arthur whispered. "Inside this envelope are forged transfer logs from your command in the Persian Gulf. They paint a very convincing picture of embezzlement—your embezzlement."
Elizabeth felt the color drain from her face. She knew the documents were complete fabrications, but she also knew how quickly a media storm could incinerate a career, regardless of the truth. Arthur had spent years planning this revenge, waiting for the moment she was most vulnerable.

"I have reporters waiting outside," Arthur continued, a cruel glint in his eyes. "And I have a digital copy ready to be sent to every major news outlet with a single tap on my phone. Sign this retraction admitting you lied about my past conduct, or watch your career and your wedding turn to ash today."
David stepped down from the altar, his face etched with concern as he tried to intervene. "Elizabeth, what is he doing here?" he asked, stepping toward his bride. But Arthur dismissed him with a sneer, telling him to stay out of military matters. That was when Sergeant Miller, the leader of the honor guard, stepped forward, his rifle held firmly across his chest.
"Sir, you are disrupting a formal ceremony and threatening a superior officer," Miller said, his voice hard as granite. "I suggest you step aside."
Arthur laughed, holding his phone up. "One press of a button, Sergeant. That is all it takes to ruin her. Elizabeth, what is your choice?"
