My Former Commander Tried to Stop My Wedding, But My Soldiers Intervened
Previously: When Admiral Elizabeth Vance walked down the aisle, she expected a peaceful wedding. Instead, her corrupt former commander stepped forward with a shocking threat to destroy her career.
The Admiral's Command
Elizabeth looked at the man she loved, then at the loyal soldiers who stood ready to protect her. She looked at the uniform she had worn with honor for over two decades. The fear that had momentarily gripped her heart dissolved, replaced by the cold, steel resolve that had made her an Admiral. She looked Arthur straight in the eye, her voice steady and clear.
"An officer of the United States Navy does not negotiate with extortionists," Elizabeth declared, her voice echoing through the silent cathedral. "Press the button, Arthur. Do your worst. I will not sign a lie."
Arthur’s smug grin faltered. He raised his thumb to press the screen of his phone, but before he could, an authoritative voice boomed from the back of the cathedral.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, Arthur."
An older gentleman in a formal suit stepped forward from the rear pews. It was retired General Vance, Elizabeth's uncle and a highly respected military figure, accompanied by two active-duty military police officers. General Vance held up a recording device. "We knew you were desperate, Arthur. We've been monitoring your communications for weeks, expecting you to try something foolish. This entire exchange has been recorded, and the 'journalists' you thought you hired outside are actually federal agents waiting to escort you to a military prison."
Arthur's face turned pale as the military police stepped forward, promptly cuffing him and leading him out of the cathedral in silence. The guests erupted into applause, and the honor guard returned to their rigid, respectful stance. David stepped forward, taking Elizabeth's hands in his. With her honor intact and her enemy finally defeated, Elizabeth smiled, ready to begin her new life. True honor cannot be stolen by lies, and loyalty remains the strongest shield of all.
