Previously: When a corrupt police chief framed K9 trainer Claire and threw her in prison, he thought he took everything. But he forgot who raised his fiercest weapons.

The tension on the training grounds was thick enough to cut with a knife. Chief Harris’s hand hovered over his holster, his knuckles turning white as he stared at the four K9s protecting the woman he had so carefully framed. He knew that if Claire walked out of here, his entire corrupt empire would crumble. For months, Harris and Thomas had been skimming off drug bust seizures, and Claire had stumbled upon the ledger detailing their crimes.

The Standout Confrontation

"Step away from the dogs, Claire," Harris demanded, his voice echoing off the concrete walls of the facility. "They are county property. You are a prisoner. If you don't surrender, I will order my men to open fire."

The officers in the background shifted uneasily, murmuring among themselves. They were beginning to realize that something was deeply wrong with this scenario.

Claire didn't back down. She placed a reassuring hand on Shadow’s head.

"You can try, Harris," she replied, her voice steady and resolute. "But the moment your men raise their weapons, these dogs will defend me. And more importantly, you will never find the encrypted drive."

Harris froze, his eyes narrowing.

"What drive?"

"The one containing every single bank account, every transaction, and every offshore deposit you and Thomas have made over the last three years," Claire said, a cold smile playing on her lips. "I hid it before your goons raided my apartment. And there are only four creatures in the world who know exactly where it is."

She patted Rex’s flank. The dogs let out a low, synchronized growl, their eyes locked onto Harris. Thomas panicked, grabbing Harris’s arm.

"Chief, she's not bluffing. If that drive gets to internal affairs, we're finished. We have to make a deal."

Harris shook him off angrily, drawing his service weapon and pointing it directly at Claire’s chest.

"I don't make deals with criminals," Harris hissed. "Tell me where it is, or I'll end this right now."
