Previously: When former K9 trainer Sarah was framed and sent to prison, the corrupt officers thought they had won—until they unleashed the prison's fiercest dogs on her.

Justice Unleashed

Warden Vance glared down at Sarah, his knuckles white as he gripped the balcony railing. For a second, it seemed he would give the order. But before he could speak, the heavy steel gates of the penitentiary courtyard were violently breached. Sirens wailed in the distance as three black SUVs tore into the yard, tires screeching on the wet concrete. Armed federal agents spilled out, their weapons drawn and aimed not at Sarah, but at the prison guards.

"FBI! Drop your weapons immediately!" a voice boomed through a megaphone.

The corrupt guards, realizing they were completely outmatched, slowly lowered their rifles. Warden Vance tried to slip back inside the administration building, but two federal agents were already waiting for him at the balcony door, slapping handcuffs on his wrists. Officer James fell to his knees, his hands raised in surrender as agents swarmed the courtyard, securing the scene.

The lead FBI agent walked over to Sarah, offering her a respectful nod. "Sarah Jenkins? We received the drive. The evidence is airtight. You're a free woman, and these men are going away for a very long time."

Sarah let out a breath she felt she had been holding for months. She knelt on the wet ground, wrapping her arms around Shadow’s neck. The other three dogs crowded around her, whimpering with joy and licking the rain and tears from her face. They had protected her when the world turned its back, and now, they would never be parted again. As part of her exoneration settlement, Sarah was granted full custody of the four K9 officers, retiring them to live out their days on her quiet country farm.

Ultimately, true loyalty cannot be bought, forced, or trained through fear; it is earned through love, and it is a bond that no amount of corruption can ever break.
