Previously: When Specialist Emily Vance stood before General Arthur with a bruised face, she refused to stay silent. But her honest answer launched an investigation that led straight to the General's own home.

The General's Verdict

The door erupted open, splintering against the wall as General Arthur strode in, flanked by three armed military police officers. Bradley spun around, his arrogant smirk instantly vanishing. He tried to quickly pocket the folder containing Leo's records, but his father's booming voice stopped him cold in his tracks.

"Step away from the desk, Captain," the General commanded, his voice laced with an icy fury that Bradley had never heard before.

Bradley tried to stammer an excuse, pointing at Emily and claiming she was fabricating stories. But the General simply gestured to the corner of the ceiling, where a small red light was blinking. The secure room's feed had been routed directly to the General's private office. Every word of Bradley's threat, every detail of his attempt to blackmail Emily using her brother's life, had been recorded in high-definition audio and video.

General Arthur walked up to his son, tears of betrayal and anger shining in his eyes. Without a word, he personally reached forward and ripped the rank insignia from Bradley's shoulders. The military police stepped forward, slamming handcuffs onto the disgraced captain's wrists and dragging him out of the room as he pleaded for his father's mercy.

Once the door closed, the room fell silent once more. General Arthur turned to Emily, his shoulders sagging under the weight of a broken family, yet his eyes remained proud. He picked up the manila folder containing her brother's records and handed it back to her, along with a signed transfer order securing Leo's safe return to a state-side post.

"You stood your ground when the enemy was wearing our own uniform, Specialist Vance," the General said softly, offering her a crisp, respectful salute. "Thank you for having the courage to speak when others were too afraid."

True honor in the military is not defined by the rank on your shoulders, but by the courage to stand up for justice, even when the truth threatens to tear down the highest walls.
