Previously: When Specialist Lauren stood before General Scott with a bruised face, her defiant answer sparked an explosive confrontation that exposed a high-ranking officer's darkest betrayal.

The tension in the grand hall reached a boiling point as General Scott demanded an immediate name. Lauren took a shallow breath, knowing that speaking the truth would set off a bomb from which there was no shelter.

The Accusation and the Trap

"It was Major Vance, sir," Lauren declared, her voice ringing clear and steady through the hall. "He assaulted me in the hangar after I discovered evidence of his black-market supply operations."

A collective murmur rippled through the officers. Major Vance immediately stepped forward, his face a mask of righteous indignation. He looked at the General, shaking his head with practiced pity.

"This is absolute madness, General," Vance said, his tone dripping with false concern. "Specialist Lauren has been struggling with severe psychological issues for months. I have the medical evaluations right here to prove it."

Vance produced a manila folder, handing the documents to General Scott. Lauren watched in horror as the General flipped through the pages. They were forged, detailing a history of unstable behavior and alcohol abuse that she had never committed. Vance had prepared for this, creating a paper trail to destroy her credibility before she could ever speak out.

General Scott's expression turned to stone as he read the forged documents. He looked up at Lauren, his eyes devoid of the sympathy she had hoped to find.

"These records are highly detailed, Specialist," General Scott said coldly. "In light of this evidence, you are immediately suspended from active duty. Hand over your credentials and prepare to be escorted to the brig pending a full psychological evaluation."

Major Vance stood just behind the General, a triumphant, wicked smirk plastered across his face. Lauren felt her heart plummet into a dark abyss of betrayal. The system she had sworn to protect was turning against her, using her abuser's lies to lock her away.
