The General Tried to Humiliate His Best Female Sniper Until Her Single Shot Saved Them All
Previously: Captain Rachel faced mockery from her own commander in a dusty desert outpost, but when a sudden threat appeared, her single bullet proved everyone wrong.
As Rachel adjusted the focus on her scope, the standard target dummy at eight hundred yards came into sharp relief. But her trained eyes caught a subtle anomaly just beyond the designated target area. High up on the jagged rock face, nestled in a crevice, was a tiny, unnatural glint of glass. Her heart rate spiked, but she forced her breathing to remain slow and rhythmic. It was a scope glint. An enemy sniper was positioned on the high ground, and they were adjusting their aim directly toward General Edward's broad, unprotected torso.
The Split-Second Decision
Rachel’s mind raced. If she fired at the dummy as ordered, she would hit it perfectly, but the sound of her shot would mask the enemy's muzzle blast, and Edward would be dead before anyone realized they were under attack. She had only one bullet in her chamber. There was no time to explain, no time to negotiate. Edward was already growling behind her, demanding she take the shot.

She shifted her aim, elevating the barrel toward the rocky ridge. Edward noticed the movement instantly.
"What are you doing, Captain? That's not the lane!" Edward roared, reaching out to grab her shoulder.
Ignoring his hand, Rachel squeezed the trigger. The rifle boomed, the heavy recoil absorbing into her shoulder. The muzzle flash kicked up a small cloud of dust. Immediately, Edward grabbed her vest, pulling her backward off the firing line.
"Insubordinate fool!" Edward yelled, his face turning a furious shade of red. "You missed the target by a mile! Hand over your weapon. You are stripped of command, and you will face a court-martial before the sun sets!"
The other soldiers stood frozen, shocked by the sudden outburst. Rachel, remaining perfectly calm despite the General's hands on her collar, pointed silently toward the distant ridge. Before Edward could shout another insult, a heavy thud echoed from the cliffs as a lifeless figure clad in hostile desert camouflage tumbled down the rocks, landing in the open ravine below.
