As Matthew read Sarah’s frantic, elegant handwriting, a wave of relief washed over him. Sarah had known her mother’s greed all too well. "I know my mother will try to take them for the money, Matt," the letter read. "The thumb drive with the recordings is in my jewelry box at home. Use it. Protect our babies."

Matthew folded the letter and looked up, his fear entirely gone. He stared directly into Eleanor's cold eyes. "You think you can bully me, Eleanor? I suggest you call off your lawyers. Sarah left me a letter, and she left me a recording. I know all about the embezzlement from the Vance Foundation. If you don't walk out of this hospital right now, those files go straight to the federal prosecutors."

Eleanor’s wealthy composure shattered. Her face turned incredibly pale, and her hands began to tremble.
