Previously: When a hostile sergeant tried to frame Lieutenant Lauren with planted evidence, she stood her ground—uncovering a deeper conspiracy that threatened to destroy her entire military career.

The Frame-Up Deepens

Within thirty minutes of the confrontation, Lauren was summoned to the office of Base Commander Vance. Sergeant Taylor was already standing there, flanked by Master Sergeant Miller, wearing an expression of smug satisfaction. He had wasted no time in reporting Lauren for physical assault on a non-commissioned officer, a charge that could easily end her military career. He painted himself as the victim of an out-of-control officer who was hiding unauthorized items in the barracks.

Commander Vance looked at Lauren with a heavy expression. "Lieutenant, these are severe allegations. If you struck a sergeant, I will have no choice but to initiate court-martial proceedings."

Lauren stood at attention, her gaze fixed straight ahead.

"Sir, I request that we review the barracks log and the footage from the personal security camera mounted on my locker. I authorized it with your office last week due to recent barracks thefts."

Taylor’s smug expression faltered, but he quickly recovered, arguing that personal cameras were a breach of security. However, Commander Vance ignored him and queued up the digital feed on his office monitor. The video clearly showed Taylor pulling the red bra from his own fatigue pocket and lunging toward Lauren, who only acted in self-defense. But as the commander zoomed in, a more sinister detail emerged. While Taylor was waving the garment, his other hand had slipped a manila folder onto Lauren's bunk.

Commander Vance paused the video.

"Sergeant Taylor, why did you plant a folder of classified Navy transport schedules on the Lieutenant's bunk?"

Taylor began to sweat, but before he could answer, he sneered at Lauren.

"You think you've won? Check your bank accounts. You're already linked to the offshore wire transfers. The money is there, Lieutenant. You're going down with me."
