My Husband Left Me for His Pregnant Mistress, but One Document Ruined Their Christmas
Previously: When David brought his pregnant mistress to our Christmas celebration and demanded a divorce, he thought he had won. But a simple folded paper from my clutch changed everything.
The Price of Deceit
Elena stumbled backward, her hand dropping from her stomach as she struggled to find an explanation. "David, honey, listen to me," she stammered, her face flushed with embarrassment. "There must be an explanation... the doctors could be wrong!" But her frantic eyes betrayed her. She had used the pregnancy to secure a wealthy husband, never expecting David’s deepest secret to expose her own.
David looked at the woman he had brought to replace his wife, suddenly seeing her not as his savior, but as a stranger who had humiliated him. The anger that had been directed at Sarah now turned entirely toward Elena. "Who is the father?" he roared, his voice shaking the festive decorations on the mantle. Elena burst into tears, unable to answer, and fled the house into the cold winter night, leaving her coat behind.

David turned back to Sarah, his eyes filled with desperation. He fell to his knees on the rug, reaching out to grab the hem of her dark red gown. "Sarah, please," he begged, tears streaming down his face. "I was stupid. I was proud. I made a mistake. We can move past this. We can adopt. Please don't leave me."
Sarah looked down at the man she had loved for seven years, feeling absolutely nothing but pity. The chains of guilt and inadequacy that had weighed her down for so long had finally vanished. She was free.
"The house is mine, David," Sarah said softly but firmly. "My lawyers have already filed the paperwork. You have ten minutes to pack your things and leave."
As David slowly gathered his belongings and walked out into the snow, Sarah sat by the fireplace, pouring herself a fresh glass of champagne. For the first time in years, she looked forward to the future, knowing that the truth had finally set her free.
