My Husband Told Me Our Baby Died, But I Found Him Crashing in a Secret Operating Room
Previously: When Emily is told her newborn baby died during surrogacy, an anonymous text leads her to a secret operating room—where she discovers a horrifying conspiracy.
The Web of Deceit
Before Emily could process the shocking discovery, the heavy doors of the operating room swung open. Richard stepped inside, his face devoid of the grief he had feigned minutes earlier. Behind him stood two burly security guards. His eyes locked onto Emily, cold and calculating.
"Get her out of here," Richard ordered the guards, pointing a finger at Emily. "She is hysterical and trespassing. She is not the mother of this child."
Emily clutched the edge of the gurney, shielding the gasping newborn with her own body. "He is my son, Richard!" she shrieked. "You lied to me! You and Jessica planned this from the start!" She turned her desperate eyes to the nurse. "Clara, please! You know the truth. You have to save him!"

Clara looked at the monitor, where the baby's heart rate was plummeting. She reached for a syringe of epinephrine, her hands shaking violently. But Richard lunged forward, grabbing Clara's wrist in a brutal, crushing grip.
"Do not touch that baby," Richard warned, his voice low and menacing. "We are transferring him to a private transport. Let him be."
Dr. Vance finally found his voice, though it was a whisper of pure terror. "Richard, we can't do this. The baby is suffocating. If we don't administer the medicine now, he won't make it. This is murder."
Richard did not let go of Clara's wrist. He had paid Dr. Vance a fortune to falsify the birth records and declare the baby dead to Emily, planning to run away with Jessica and the child using Emily's stolen life savings. If the baby died, his entire plan would crumble, but if Emily took the baby, he would go to prison. He was willing to let the infant perish to cover his tracks. The security guards stepped toward Emily, their heavy hands reaching out to drag her away from her dying child.
