Previously: When Sarah's smug ex-husband tried to strip her of her military honors and pension in a holiday-themed courtroom, she refused to back down—knowing a shocking secret was about to expose his lies.

The Tide Turns

Before Robert’s lawyer could object to Sarah's refusal, the heavy double doors at the back of the courtroom swung open with a loud thud. The sudden noise made everyone turn. Walking down the center aisle was Admiral Thomas Vance, a highly decorated officer and Sarah’s commanding officer, flanked by two federal agents in dark suits.

Robert’s face immediately drained of color. The silver-haired businessman tried to maintain his composure, but his hands began to tremble against the mahogany table.

"Your Honor," Admiral Vance announced, his voice booming through the silent room. "I am here to present critical evidence of national security interest that directly impacts this case. We have reason to believe the plaintiff has submitted falsified military documents to this court."

The judge gestured for the Admiral to approach. A thick blue folder was handed up to the bench. Inside was the digital trail of the forged documents Robert had used to frame Sarah. With her background in naval intelligence, Sarah had spent nights tracking the IP addresses and metadata of the files Robert’s legal team had submitted. They had traced the forgery directly to a server owned by one of Robert’s shell companies.

"This is an outrage!" Robert’s lawyer stammered, standing up. "My client is a respected contractor! This is military interference in a civil matter!"

"Sit down, counselor," the judge warned, her eyes never leaving the documents. The silence in the room was suffocating. The only sound was the rustling of papers as the judge reviewed the evidence of forgery, conspiracy, and illegal surveillance of an active-duty military officer.

When the judge finally looked up, her expression was filled with cold fury. She looked directly at Robert, who was now sweating profusely.

"Mr. Sterling," the judge said. "Not only are these documents blatant forgeries, but this file contains a federal warrant for your arrest issued by the Department of Defense."
