Previously: Megan and Andrew’s beautiful wheelchair wedding is interrupted by her vengeful father. But Megan has a secret document that turns the tables on him forever.

The Unwelcome Guests

Megan’s father, Richard, marched down the aisle, his face contorted with anger. Beside him was Julian, Megan’s ex-fiancé, looking smug and self-righteous. The guests fell into an uncomfortable silence as Richard stormed up to the altar, stopping just feet away from the newlyweds.

"This wedding is a sham!" Richard shouted, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "Megan, you are being manipulated by a family of opportunists!"

With a dramatic flourish, Richard threw a thick folder of medical documents onto Megan’s lap. He claimed that Andrew’s older brother, an orthopedic surgeon, had been on duty the night of Megan’s accident and had intentionally botched her spinal surgery to ensure she remained paralyzed, knowing that Andrew would eventually "rescue" her and gain access to her multi-million dollar trust fund.

The accusation was monstrous. Andrew’s face drained of color, his hands trembling as he looked at the papers. "Megan, I swear to you, that isn't true," Andrew whispered, his voice cracking. "My brother works in another state. He wasn't even there!"

Julian stepped forward, offering a patronizing hand to Megan. "Come with us, Megan. Your father and I have arranged for a specialist in Europe. We can get you the real treatment you need, away from these grifters."

Megan looked at the papers, then at her father and Julian. Instead of crying or panicking, a cold, calm resolve settled over her. She realized this was a calculated trap designed to ruin her happiness and force her back under her father's control. But they had underestimated her.

"Did you really think I wouldn't look into the accident myself, Father?" Megan asked, her voice steady and clear.

She reached into the hidden pocket of her wedding gown and pulled out a certified document, bearing the seal of the state police.
