My Fellow Officer Trapped Me in the Woods, But I Had a Secret Weapon
Previously: When Officer Samantha is betrayed by her partner in a foggy forest, she must rely on her wits and a hidden tracker to turn the tables before it's too late.
The Confrontation
Daniel spun around, his face turning pale as the flashing police lights drew closer. The fog was thick, but there was no mistaking the shape of three patrol cruisers navigating the narrow dirt path into the grove. He hadn't expected anyone to find them so quickly, let alone a full tactical response.
"How?" Daniel hissed, turning back to Samantha with wild, desperate eyes. "How did they find us?"

Samantha smiled weakly, the pain in her head flaring up as she spoke. She knew she had to keep him talking, to buy time for the officers to surround the area. She had prepared for this exact scenario the moment she realized Daniel was involved in the evidence locker theft.
"You forgot about the new protocol, Daniel," Samantha said. "The moment my heart rate spiked past a hundred and twenty, my tactical vest automatically activated its GPS beacon. And my body camera? It's been live-streaming to the Captain's desk for the last ten minutes."
The revelation hit Daniel like a physical blow. He realized that his career, his freedom, and his reputation were instantly gone. But instead of throwing his hands up, the desperation in his eyes morphed into dangerous panic. He drew his service weapon, his hands shaking violently as he stepped behind Samantha, using her bound body as a human shield.
Heavy footsteps crunched through the dry leaves as Captain Miller and three other officers emerged from the fog, their weapons drawn and flashlights cutting through the gloom. The bright beams illuminated the terrifying scene: one of their own holding a gun to his partner's head.
"Drop the weapon, Daniel!" Captain Miller roared, his voice echoing through the silent woods. "It's over! We saw everything on the feed!"
"Stay back!" Daniel screamed, tightening his grip on Samantha’s collar and pressing the cold barrel of the gun against her temple. "I swear I'll pull the trigger! Let me walk out of here, or she dies!"
