My Husband Framed Me for Neglecting Our Daughter, but She Revealed the Truth

Before Sarah could even gather her thoughts to answer, David stepped in front of her, shielding himself from the officer's intense gaze. His voice trembled, but there was a strange, calculated edge to his words as he pointed a finger directly at his wife.

"Officer, it was her. Sarah has been extremely depressed lately. She’s been taking medication and forgetting things. I think she must have put Lily out here or let her wander off. I've been telling her we need help!"

Sarah stared at her husband in absolute horror. They had been going through a bitter, unspoken custody battle as their marriage crumbled, but she never imagined he would use their daughter's life as a weapon to destroy her. The paramedics rushed Lily into the back of the ambulance, and Officer Miller insisted that Sarah ride along under close supervision, while David was told to follow in his own vehicle.

At the hospital, the tension in the pediatric ICU was suffocating. Lily was hooked up to an oxygen monitor, her tiny chest rising and falling. Officer Miller stood by the door, his hand resting near his holster, his eyes never leaving Sarah. David paced the hallway outside, occasionally looking through the glass with a look of nervous anticipation.

Finally, the monitor beeped softly, and Lily’s eyelids fluttered open. Sarah rushed to her side, tears of relief spilling over. Lily looked around the sterile room, her eyes wide with fear, until they landed on her mother. She pulled Sarah close, whispering in a tiny, trembling voice.

"Mommy... Daddy told me to play a hide-and-seek game last night. He said if I stayed in the big blue bin and didn't make a sound, we would win. But then he locked it, and it got so cold."

Sarah felt an icy wave of fury wash over her. She looked up at the window, locking eyes with David, whose face suddenly drained of all color. But she knew she needed undeniable proof to make the police believe a six-year-old over a respected businessman.
