David’s lawyer stood and began his opening statement, painting Sarah as an unfit mother. But before he could finish, Sarah’s lead attorney stood up and presented the court with the original security footage from the Sterling mansion lobby, which Arthur’s team had remotely retrieved from the cloud. It showed Victoria physically assaulting Sarah, and David standing by, laughing. Then, he laid down the historical evidence of the arson and patent theft from twenty-five years ago, accompanied by a signed confession from the retired security guard who had been bribed by David's father.

The judge's face hardened as she read the documents. She looked at David and Victoria with utter disgust.

"Not only is this petition denied, but I am referring these matters to the District Attorney for immediate criminal prosecution for assault, filing false police reports, and historical fraud,"

Victoria gasped, clutching her chest as bailiffs stepped forward to escort her and David out in handcuffs. David turned to look at Sarah, his eyes filled with desperate panic, but she simply turned her back on him.
