My Husband Mocked Me When I Fell, So I Summoned My Lawyer to the Altar
Previously: On what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, Megan fell from her chair only to face her groom's cruel mockery—but she had a secret weapon waiting at the door.
The Uninvited Guest
Daniel Vance, the city's most formidable estate attorney, walked down the aisle with absolute authority. The whispers among the guests grew into a low roar as he approached the head table. Andrew stood up, his face hardening as he tried to maintain his composure in front of his family's high-profile guests.
"Megan, what is the meaning of this childish stunt?" Andrew hissed, grabbing my wrist. "Order your friend to leave before I have security throw him out."
I pulled my arm back with force, staring directly into his eyes. "Touch me again, Andrew, and it won't just be a divorce you're facing. It will be assault charges." Daniel stepped between us, placing his heavy leather briefcase on the table right next to my discarded wedding ring.

Catherine stepped forward, her face flushed with anger.
"This is a private family celebration! You have no right to barge in here and ruin my son's wedding!" she shrieked.
Daniel calmly opened his briefcase and pulled out a stack of notarized documents, handing them directly to Andrew.
"Actually, Catherine, this marriage is already legally void," Daniel announced, his voice echoing through the silent hall. "We have proof that the financial disclosures provided for the prenuptial agreement were completely falsified to hide your family's imminent bankruptcy."
A collective gasp rippled through the audience. Andrew's hands began to shake as he scanned the papers. The truth was out. His family's prestigious shipping empire was a hollow shell, and they had desperately needed my late father's multi-million-dollar trust fund to survive. They had planned to lock me into a marriage, seize control of my assets, and cast me aside.
But Catherine wasn't ready to give up. She leaned over Andrew's shoulder, her eyes darting across the pages. Suddenly, a malicious smirk spread across her face. She whispered something into her son's ear, and Andrew's panicked expression melted back into arrogant confidence.
"You think you're so clever, Megan," Andrew sneered, stepping closer. "But you forgot the most important clause in your father's will. If you don't stay married for at least one full year, the entire trust fund defaults to his estate's executors—and guess who my mother just signed a partnership with yesterday?"
