Previously: When heavily pregnant Chelsea was cornered and violently attacked in a hospital corridor by her husband's mistress, Brittany, she thought she'd lose everything—until Dr. Harris risked his career to protect her.

An Unthinkable Ultimatum

Within moments, hospital security arrived and dragged a screaming Brittany away. Dr. Harris immediately ordered a medical team to rush me into an emergency examination room. For three agonizing hours, the staff worked tirelessly to stabilize my elevated heart rate and prevent premature labor. By the time I was wheeled into a quiet recovery room, the immediate danger had passed, but my mind was still spinning with fear and confusion. Why would Brittany attack me? How did she even know I was here?

My questions were answered when the door to my room swung open. But it wasn't a comforting doctor or an anxious husband who entered. It was Mark, and his face was as cold as ice. He didn't rush to my side, nor did he ask if our baby was safe. Instead, he pulled a thick envelope from his briefcase and tossed it onto my bed. "You need to sign these, Chelsea," he said, his voice completely devoid of emotion.

My hands trembled as I opened the envelope. Inside were divorce papers paired with a full waiver of my custody rights. I stared at him, unable to breathe.

"What is this, Mark? Your assistant just tried to kill our baby!"
I cried, the tears spilling over. Mark didn't even flinch. He leaned over the bed, his eyes cold and threatening.
"If you sign these and agree to drop the assault charges against Brittany, I’ll make sure you get a quiet settlement. If you refuse, I will drag you through the mud, prove you're an unfit mother, and take that baby away from you forever."

I was trapped. My husband was willing to destroy my life to protect the woman who had just assaulted me. But before I could sink further into despair, the door opened again. Dr. Harris stepped in, holding a thick medical folder. He looked at Mark with a level of disgust that made my husband take a step back. "I suggest you put those papers away, young man," Dr. Harris said calmly, though his eyes burned with fury.
